Welcome | Course Overview
Welcome to our Mindfulness Meditation Course.
Let's first look into the purpose of meditation. Formal meditation serves as practice for the 'real game' which is life itself. We meditate to cultivate a healthier and happier existence. So, what does meditation improve?
a. Calm Abiding: Also known as Shamatha/mindfulness, it enhances our capacity to reduce stress and anxiety.
b. Focus and Concentration: Strengthening our ability to be present not only enhances productivity but also fosters happiness.
c. Kindness: Meditation cultivates compassion, benefiting our relationships (with ourselves and others) and self-acceptance, fostering contentment within ourselves.
As one teacher simply put it: "What matters is who and how we are when we roll up the mat and leave the yoga studio/meditation hall."
